Is there a way to save a given movie(AVI;
HuffYUV) in the H.264 codec in the chroma subsample: 4:2:2 ? (Because in this codec this information is normally, most commonly stored in: 4:2:0 probably).
A program ? As far as I know, there is such a possibility(H.264 in 4:2:2):

I'm asking because in such a lossy codec, I would like to finally save a file which from birth to my entire journey will be 4:2:2 and I think that it would be good not to give away at least any color information.
After capturing VHS tapes to a digital file in AVI (
HuffYUV) I would like to save them in the codec H.264 at the end because the file will be reproducible on many different devices in such a codec (in HuffYUV it would not be). It's a good idea ? Is there any other better codec (less lossy) that will work without problems on different devices like H.264 ?
