I see the edit guides use mainly the DVD Decryptor which I haven't found a way to make it work with V64.
Vob Edit does seems to work fine.
What do you recommend for getting it to hard drive in one VOB using 64?

In the absense of DVD Decrypter, I highly suggest VOB2MPG Pro: http://svcd2dvd.com/VOB2MPG/default.aspx

I use this on one of my Vista 64 systems. I used it almost every day this week, in fact, because I had a project that was sourced from submitted DVDs.

I almost feel like a salesman, but ....

The free version can do some things, but the Pro version is much better -- more options for extraction. (There's a chart on the site that compares the two.)

VOB2MPG Pro does this:

VOBSET MODE
  • Join vobs per vobset
  • Process troublesome audio streams
  • Handle DTS/LPCM audio
  • Optimised DVDR reading performance
  • Recalculate GOP timecodes
IFO MODE
  • Preview DVD titles/chapters
  • Extract by title
  • Extract by chapter
  • Mpeg file per chapter option
  • Extract non continuous chapters
  • Reorder chapters for extration
  • Handle multi angle DVDs
  • Choose audio stream to extract
  • Optimised DVDR reading performance
  • Optimised extraction performance
  • (three times quicker!)
  • Recalculate GOP timecodes
VOB2MPG Standard (Free) only does this:

VOBSET MODE
  • Join vobs per vobset
  • Process troublesome audio streams
IFO MODE
  • Preview DVD titles/chapters
  • Extract by title
  • Handle multi angle DVDs
This is on the site right now:

SPECIAL OFFER - VOB2MPG PRO IS 50% OFF FOR A LIMITED TIME. THATS ONLY 6 GBP!
That wasn't there a few days ago. The programmer is a nice person, dedicated to video tools. It's worth the few dollars he asks. (£6 = $9 USD)

I will say, however, that I use DVD Decrypter on all of my Vista 64 systems without problems.

But VOB2MPG does more than DVD Decrypter did, so it's still worth having. (With VOB2MPG, you can rip entire VTS to one file, for example. Not always useful, but can be. I still suggest ripping by PGC (IFO mode), as you did in DVD Decrypter, for the most glitch-free rips.)

If you do buy it, and there's an option to leave "comments" somewhere, be sure to mention you were referred from the DigitalFAQ.com Forum.

That's what I'd use!
