@lordsmurf Just a clarifying question, you mention the DVK, but never which model? does it matter? i found 100, 200, 400, and while some obviously are priced higher, but a DVK-100 doesnt seem too bad, but the cheapest is $110 with $100 shipping. the rest are all $300+ on ebay at least.

$100 shipping. Unless heavy, large, and/or overnight from overseas that is crazy.

Beyond the general caveats regarding buying from ebay and similar sources: I've noticed some sellers offering items dirt cheap, but with crazy shipping costs. Not sure why, but I wonder if it is related to fees, insurance coverage, sales taxes, and/or potential refunds if gear is not as expected. Personally I would be leery of any seller that loads shipping costs and cuts item cost substantially below fair market value.

Oh, thats a very normal tactic. It happens because people dont pay attention and they are like "Oh its so cheap" then they are checking out, dont notice the huge shipping, or justify it somehow, and continue paying for it. Its all mind games, and it works. i stay away from those.

100, 200. The 100 usually needs fan mods, the 200 maybe not. Not all in/out have the frame sync activated, all chroma features must be disabled. The biggest issue with these is condition. 99% are "untested" (ie not working), and even the "tested" and "working" units need to be more complex of a test than "I plugged it in, and saw lights! It works!" (aka the usual pathetic eBay "test" method).

Was the "What is a tbc" thread not the right place? I thought it was ontopic to your large post about the es15, dvk and tbc-5000. My apologies if it wasn't
