I have a lot of VHS tapes at home in the late 90s, some have not so good quality and tracking issues,
i am using a LG RC-688 VCR COMBO.
i do not know with the problem is in the VCR itself or in the tapes,
is there a big difference between the LG RC-688 and the JVC HR-S9700EU SVHS?
will regular VHS tapes work just fine on the JVC HR-S9700EU?

Regular tapes work better in a S-VHS deck.
