VirtualDub exorcist filter?

So, I've started with virtualdub, I already deinterlaced the video, and some people told me to use exorcist to remove that "shadow gost", which I've tried and just doubled the video... So if any of you could tell me what to do to that, and to the soft edges, without cropping, or any addicional things you feel that are relevant to this.

Any one correct me if I am wrong, but I don't think that filter works so well. Avisynth has a few:

For starters, if you deinterlace in VirtualDub, quality will be reduced. That alone will cause more issues than any darkengin edge noise.

Sorry for bumping this, but I'm just going to quickly tack this on the end of this thread because it's quite difficult to find the exorcist filter online. I know it's not a great filter in most cases, but here is a wayback machine link to it for posterity:

I don't know about exorcist, but ghosting is one of the most difficult artifacts to get rid off.

Nice! Thanks for that. Pretty sure TMPGenc Plus is also pretty good for deghosting.
