Fixing audio that comes out of one speaker

"Your audio issue is odd too. You seem to have a lot of strange problems, I just don't understand it. Sure, open in an audio editor and see what you can see."

I've never used an audio editor before, can you pretty much walk me thru step by step what I have to do to the clip that only has the audio coming out of one speaker, how I would fix it to get the audio coming out of both speakers.

What audio editors do you have?
- Sound Forge
- Audacity
- Goldwave
- all of the above
- other
- nothing

The method varies per program.

I use Sound Forge for something like this. Load the WAV file (convert to WAV if it's something else!), then double click the good channel, CTRL-C to copy, then double click the 'bad" or empty channel, CTRL-V to paste. Takes a few minutes to paste, and you're done. Save the WAV. Convert back to AC3 or MP2 (or whatever) and you're good to go.

I'm trying to do that in Soundforge...the bad channel is a straight line...I've had this problem before where I saw in Goldwave that the bad channel was completely empty..but this time it's a straight line...I've tried doing what you said, but it's not pasting into the bad channel..

Disregard this post..after trying a few times, it copied.

Another update...I burned the project for the 4th time and I finally have it fixed, sound out of both speakers, and no more slow fast forward. So I now have 2 discs done of the big project I've been trying to work on for a year :)

Thanks
