Noticed today that the Datavideo TBC-1000 is now discontinued according to B&H site.

With the risk of buying a defect AVT-8710 and TBC-1000 discontinued, what would the recommendation be for buying a brand new TBC? or would it be best to go for a second hand TBC-1000 or 100?

Has there been any releases of new "prosumer" TBC the last couple of years without defects or is the marked of new good equipment dieing?
If you are looking on B&H at the moment, you only have AVT-8710 and 1T-TBC available in the sub 500$ category.

You can still find new "old stock" for both the TBC-100 and TBC-1000.
Example, found via Google: http://www.proflixsales.com/index.ph...FasRMwodC24A4w

But yes, second-hand is fine. That's what I'd do. No different than locating good VCRs, proc amps, etc.
