jmac698 had a lot of good filters, though many were in early development stages. As is often said, your mileage may vary (YMMV) -- however think gas-guzzler, not Tesla. You won't get very far with them.
I was especially interested in the software TBC. That had potential, and is something we sorely need in the analog VHS video conversion world. It could really help with repairing damaged nth-generation VHS copies (or copies of copies, ad infinitum, ad naseum!), as well as all those badly converted DVDs using crappy VCRs plugged into crappy recorders (or worse, combo units).
I'm actually not entirely sure what a few of them do, but his work on them is documented both here and at Doom9. I do know that he was using MatLab for development.
