Hi there. I've found this forum after searching for VCR model that I've recently purchased. Thank you very musch for the info.

My problem is simple: the much needed TBC switch is working pretty great, but for some reason it adds a green or blue tint to the image. It fixed the bad image, but with a cost. I don't know if the TBC is faulty, or if it's configured incorrectly. I understand there's a way to configure it, but don't know how (I've found the service manual but don't know what to make of it).

The VCR is connected to the computer via ADVC-55, and I view/record on my PC via WinDV.

Here's an example: https://www.dropbox.com/s/k7lon0kvf6...0TINT.mp4?dl=0

Can anyone help? Thanks in advance!

Same problem with 2 Panasonic NV-HS 1000. The colours get a yellow-green tint in the image

No as hard as yours but i can detect the yellow in the dark areas... i'll try to post an example.

HS1000 TBC yellow tint is in all of those models, this issue was resolved in the successor model HS950 which has no tint.

The 8700 footage shown here is very wrong and nothing like any of the setting adjustment can create. You need to replace all the capacitors in all the boards that use SMD capacitors. My CAR gave odd brown colour with white dots. New capacitors fixed it. It's a shame, but unless all caps have been changed or you can do it yourself this machine should be not considered.

Does it make a sort of warm electronics or fishy smell after it has been on and running for 30 minutes? My 8700 made a really bad smell - but the cat liked it.
