How to get histograms to show in VirtualDub?
 

Many posts talk about using the Color Tools filter to show histograms in VDub. But, as I have found and various posts have mentioned, Color Tools crashes in VDub. I'm using VDub 1.9.11 and Color Tools 1.4. Is there a newer version of Color Tools or an alternative filter to allow using histograms with VDub?

Thanks! Color Tools 1.5 loads without crashing VirtualDub. Now, how do I get the video to show with the histogram? I can either see the histogram in the output pane without the video or see the video without the histogram with the Passthru control.

That's an unfortunate limitation with VirtualDub and ColorTools. You can disable ColorTools altogether by un-clicking its left-hand on/off control box in the filter list. But you can't display the graph and the image at the same time. But that doesn't make the filter useless, it still givers valuable information that your eyes can work with. It's just a pain to turn it on and off.
