I've been playing around with Apple systems but also want to try the PC route — however, I'm less familiar with these old machines.

Reading here, I assume it should run XP. If I begin with an AIW 128 MB 9600 AGP card, what sort of PC should I be looking for -- other than that it needs to have an AGP slot? What amount of RAM is enough? Processor?

Does anybody here use an AGP-enabled PC for capture?

Yep, for most of my ATI AIW systems.

- dual/quad-core Intel. (More cores is NOT better.) My main build has an E8400.
- 2gb RAM (4gb max allowed by XP)
- Asrock motherboards best, covered in other posts on the forums

So what specs should I be looking for in an AGP-equipped PC? I assume that AGP is only supported up to a certain point of PC evolution.
