By request I have attached the menu options for the JVC S-3500U I nabbed at a local thrift store for ten bucks. It is a little limited compared to my S-7800U. No picture control, NR.
It does have Calibration and Stabilizer.
Can't beat it for the price! Works GREAT.

Hm, looks like only the 9500 had EDIT mode of the NTSC ones. On the PAL versions at least the 7500 and 8500 do as well (though not the non-SVHS decks from the lineup.) On the other hand PAL models didn't get video stabilizer until much later.

All of these JVC SVHS decks have digital/Y/C board, but I'm not sure if the 2D one in the cheaper models any extra NR like the 3D Y/C/TBC in the top of the line ones. There is analog noise reduction in any case.

SUPERIMPOSE = off (puts text on screen)
STABILIZER = off
CALIBRATION = off

No picture modes. Assumed to be "always on", but only comparative captures (ie 3600/3800 or similar x600/x800) could verify.
