A Cooler AV Toolbox TBC! (custom cooling mods!)

After reading about some AV Toolbox units getting hot, (I'm a big fanatic about keeping everything cool!),I was using a laptop cooler under the unit, until I found this one at my local PC shop. I removed the installed top wire-mesh screen that it comes with, for maximum air-flow...Just hope the close proximity of the cooler fan/magnets to the AV Toolbox doesn't introduce any video noise?...In past use it didn't seem to be a problem. And it is USB powered.Attachment 4362

Without good cooling, the AVT-8710 overheats in a bout 6 hours (one EP tape worth), and weird stuff starts to happens. The chips on the DataVideo TBCs never did this.

My cooling mod was to attach a small bit of removable cooling tape and a filed-down heatsink.

Yours is a bulking solution, but probably cooler yet.

... just hope it doesn't emit too much fan noise. I need absolute quiet when working with audio (for restoration).

This particular cooler fan is real quiet! don't even notice it.
