Slight attempt at warning you that frame drops and audio sample drops will occur if the signal is not "stable".
Its not the fault of the capture device, its not meant as a signal processor.. only as a digitizer.
There are signal processors (with) digitizers, DVRs come the closest on the low end.. later.. much later some high-end semi-prosumer capture devices advertised a "genlock" or "frame sync" or "sync regenerator" to help begin the digitizing at the right point in the field or frame so there would be fewer instances of discarding incomplete image fields.
But those worked on the principal of grabbing a "tiger by the tail" and did not assure frame drops or sample drops would not happen.
Very high end gear will have tunable features for "true'ing up", or reconciling "missing" data.. video or audio.. so that the audio and video stays in sync and there are as few glitches as possible.. but mostly those were for Broadcast situations.
You could "insert" duplicate frames for missing video frames on the output.
You could "rapidly attenuate" missing audio, so discontinuities didn't cause "Pops" or "Dead spots" while inserting neutral samples.
Mostly people aren't experts at managing incomplete data and tolerate occasional "glitches" in the audio or video .. but can't tolerate de-synchronized audio and video.. which is hardest to achieve.. the longer the recording being digitized.

A TV Wonder that "does" have a Theater 200 Chip.. came out 2004-2005 in that brief interval before the great acquisition by AMD. (well) maybe not technically a TV Wonder (!) its confusing. The visual signature seems to be an additional Hyginix ram chip which does not appear on any of the TV Wonders... that I know of.. its confusing.. there were stories of (one) TV wonder beyond the USB2.0N but never confirmed. This proves that its at least possible those stories were true.
I do not know if the device driver is still available.. this one is coming from the EU.
