Try to do shorter post with even less details, just to see if someone has a chrystall ball on the forum.

Something like "I have problem, help me".

oxycotton420 07-13-2004 01:00 PM

When you used dvd2avi to extract the ac3, what was the name of the file it produced ?

Note: you try to do a SVCD with AC3 ???

DVD2avi gave me this, audio from dvd2avi AC3 T01 3_2ch 448Kbps DELAY 0ms.ac3
oh and i did use 0ms in runbbmpg...

:!:
The default for SVCD is 180. So you have to put 180 + (delay given by dvd2avi), that is 180+0 = 180 !

Note: can you please also answer to the question I added in a "note:" in my previous post ?

Maybe your audio is for movie + previous stuff, and your video is only movie without previous stuff.
I had this problem any time before, but I don't know how to fix it. But it is a clue, don't think it.
(it seems an answer for a "?" question, but isn't it, I sure you,)

nope that is not what i am doing, the ac3 i got i converted to MP2 which worked btw ;)
anyways so i do the 180 for svcd and it should work...i'll try now and post in a sec...

I've encountered some errors with bbmpeg
Code:

NOTE: Mux rate may be too low for data rate, watch for PTS/DTS underflows.
Multiplexing file test.mpg
audio PTS underflow at pack 1 by 111.63ms
audio PTS underflow at pack 2 by 235.98ms
audio PTS underflow at pack 3 by 386.45ms
audio PTS underflow at pack 4 by 536.93ms
...........ect

trying with tmpgenc now...
:( nope man still audio sync problem

Dialhot 07-13-2004 01:32 PM

Drop that shit !

Your problem is not in the audio, but in the video.

With all your skills in the matter you should have reason ! :banghead:

The audio is not in synch with the video then that is the audio that is bad ? And what do you say if I tell you that is the videothat is not in synch with the audio ?

That does not turns mencoder in a trustable encoder. *D*R*O*P* *I*T*

Tmpgpenc as almost ANYONE here use with NO PROBLEMS !

Note: let me resume :

So you have a DVD coming from nowhere, that is PAL but in 30 fps (even if this does not exits), with an audio that can't be turned into ac3 properly (you never told us how you solved this problem btw) and the muxing is out of synch ?

Okay, keep mencoder if you want but drop your source.

(note: I really start to wonder if you do not just invent the problems... I don't know what is your goal but I think I will put you on my "ignore" list).

Prodater64 07-13-2004 01:52 PM

In runbbmpeg settings, be sure forced mux rate = 0

oxycotton420 07-13-2004 01:54 PM

1- dvd dycrpt was wrong the source was infact NTSC and there was no problem with that
2- i fixed the problem what i did was use DVD2avi to mux the AC3 from the (source DVD) which in fact is a DVD that i want to back up
3-

U know phil, i don't think thats relevant or however u spell that word, it doesn't matter what am doing, am simply a guy with nothing to do and love movies, thats what am doing and ofcourse i like to explore and exploration that causes some problems on the way with the help of some people that can be fixed..and thats very nice to hear that i'm going to beo n ur ignore list

EDIT: yes predator i did make sure and it was like that

No one will solve this for you because : your problem is due to mencoder !

Mencoder often give big bitrate peaks, WAY ABOVE THE MAXIMUM AUTHORIZED and as for SVCD the total video+audio bitrate CAN'T be more than 2820 (not really sure of the value right now, but that won't make any difference), you obtain this underflow problems on the audio !

 CAN YOU COPY THAT ?

It is not because you never fall on the problem before that the problem does not exist. Why the hell do you think we close the mencoder forum for a while if it is not because mencoder has SERIOUS problems ?

Note: and if you can't even know if your DVD is NTSC or PAL, then let me  about your skills

oxycotton420 07-13-2004 02:09 PM

phil :)
okay there that was better now i udnerstand why it is from the video,
and btw it was MencodeMe...now i see what u mean about serious problems...i'm going to have to look for a guide for DVD to KSVCD :( as i have not done that before, btw phil sorry for giving u trouble ;) thanks all i'm looking for is info thats all u tell me why this won't work and i'll understand :)
