Some AVIs have mp3 audio. how to rip audio in AVI and convert to AC3 file?

Just use VDubMod.
Open the AVI and go to "Streams" menu and click on the "Stream list" option.
Now click your audio track and push the "demux" button.
Your AC3 has been extracted for future compression :).

You mean the mp3 is extracted ;)

However, that is a BAD idea to convert a mp3 into ac3 as there is no ac3 encoder that gives correct result. Convert it to mp2.

Anyway, does somebody remember that program that we are talking about some days ago?
It does such kind of conversion.

@Dialhot: I wonder why, if you gave original reference, you don't mentioned it here? Did you test it already?

It's a trialware that does not work anymore (at least on my PC the time is over). And as this is part of a very expensive tool, you can forget it)
