BTW. you should have a look at Belight from Dimzon @ Doom9.
That is to me now the way of handling/transforming/encoding audiostreams.
Good!
And I've used Belight a few months ago but we still had the "low volume" issue I dumped it in my harddrive somewhere.
I'll take a look at it right away .

I've been at that thread but I can't see where to download the tool.
Can someone post a link or something?
Cheers

Thanks sparskter .
I downloaded it but I can't make it work...
It always output an error in the GUI.
I was trying to transcode an AC3 448kb to an AC3 384kb just to see how it sounds.
I used directshow input.
Any reason why I would get this error?
BTW, I tried to open the *.ac3 file directly without going into avisynth.
Could it have anything to do with it?
Cheers

DO use the nicaudio plugin for accessing ac3/DTS/mp2 audiostreams in avisynth! When using Directshow you NEVER know what affects the systems dshow filterchain.

I still haven't understood the way it works .
I will have to download nicaudio?
And should I feed the audio through avisynth script?
I'm sorry but I don't get it how this software works .

Easy, get the nicaudio plugin on avisynth.org.

And use for audioimport

NicAC3Source(".............")

In behappy this will generated automatically imho, so u dont have to write an import script. All does base on the nicaudio plugin.

To be honest, I never tried Behappy, and since 3 month I even didnt encode a backup as I did stick in appl. developments, means getting into codes.

But the approach and the reports of Behappy do speak for themself

Thanks for the tips Andrej.
I'll try that but I think I will not succeed .
Hopefully DSPGuru will build a new BeSweet with a new ac3enc.dll soon.

@all
Ok, here's what I've done.
Downloaded and installed both BeHappy and NicAudio.
I put NicAudio.dll inside Avisynth's plugin directory.
Then I created a dummy avisynth script with
NicAC3Source("x:\...\myac3file.ac3")
Then I opened BeHappy, selected the source script, selected NicAC3Source from the combo-box, left the DSP windows with everything unchecked, selected the destination path and the destination filename and chose ffmpeg AC3@ 320 kbps.
Then I pressed the Add to Job Control button, switched to the Job Control tab, and pressed the start button.
Here's what I got from the log pane:
Code:
Starting job cataudio.avs->CAT T01 3_2ch 384Kbps DELAY 0ms_b494f5dfc128488abfb7bfa7a7432cd8.ac3
Error: BeHappy.AviSynthException: m2AudioAC3Source: "D:\CATWOMAN\D2V\cataudio.avs" is not a valid AC-3 file
   at BeHappy.AviSynthClip..ctor(String func, String arg, AviSynthColorspace forceColorspace, AviSynthScriptEnvironment env)
   at BeHappy.Encoder.encode()
What could I be doing wrong
Cheers

@RDS

Go into behappy with the native AC3 file, IMHO the script will be generated by Behappy itself.

I'm sorry for the newbie question but...do I need to download and copy ffmpeg.exe to BeHappy's folder or something?
Because I just tried the way Incredible suggested so that BH generates the script on the fly but I still got this:
Code:
Starting job CAT T01 3_2ch 384Kbps DELAY 0ms.ac3->test.ac3
Found Audio Stream
Channels=6, BitsPerSample=16, SampleRate=48000Hz
ffmpeg.exe -i - -y -acodec ac3 -ab 320 "D:\CATWOMAN\D2V\test.ac3"
Error: System.ApplicationException: Can't start encoder: The system cannot find the file specified ---> System.ComponentModel.Win32Exception: The system cannot find the file specified

Duh!!!!!!
It seams it really needs ffmpeg (just finished looking at the log ).
Which ffmpeg should I download?
Is there a new version already with the bug fixed?
Danpos said something about Incredible's ffmpeg build.
Did you build a ffmpeg.exe with the bug fixed, Andrej?
Where can I get it

At DOS shell I do type:

Code:
ffmpeg.exe
(I did place it into C:\Windows folder).

Do I must to change the file name from ffmpeg.exe to ffplay.exe? I'm confused ...

Thanks for your reply,

EDIT: the version of ffmpeg.exe present into MediCoder app works without a such dll complaint (I tested this just right now).

EDIT2: OK, I took a look at Celtic Druid's website and got the most recent ffmpeg build (April 10th), which has the ffplay.exe player. But how do use it for to do the transcode?

@ rui
Just try mine as it gots the patch included. OR do try a celtic druids recent one.

@danpos

ffplay is just a player.
ffmpeg is the transcoder.

I compiled ffmpeg including ogg format, so you should use the latest CelticDruid Build or do look in the www for that specific ogg dll. Then copy that ogg.dll into the same folder where ffmpeg.exe is.
