HeadAC3he: WAV to MP2: What is the best process in A-Z steps?
hi everybody.
Any AUDIO guru's out there in the house he he.. !! I need a little help here. I'm trying out different approachs w/ .WAV -> .MP2 to use in my encodes. * What is the process.. .. example, if I have a captured file, and * I open in vdub, and * extract the auido.. but wait.. check this out first, cause this may be my error. . . * Assuming that I am setting up an IVTC in AVIsynth and create my .AVS script.. ..do I extract the .WAV audio during the IVTC, OR * do I extract the .WAV audio first in w/out any .AVS scripts, by opening ..the "original" .AVI clip in vdub first, THEN create the .WAV file ?? You see, I'm not to sure.. I'm CONF 8O 8O SED :? A - extract .WAV first (before any scripts) B - extract .WAV AFTER (during IVTC script) That is the question. ok, then my follow-up question for your audio guru's is like this.. * in HeadAC3he, HOW and WHAT settings do I use to create the .MP2 file .. (for best quality purposes) ..@Kwag I see you feel that 112k audio ..is good sound. I'd like to experiment on this. * clips I'm testing this out on are MTV (and others) musics videos and of .. course, movies and things.. I sure would love to hear some A-Z steps, cause I really do need them. Thanks, and have a great day all. -vhelp |
you know,i'm not a guru!
believe me friend: i'm searching and reading(tons) now about ac3 to wave, wave to mp2, ac3 to mp2,etc etc. wait a little(or more) and i post everything here for us all! the conection here is very slow! :( "* in HeadAC3he, HOW and WHAT settings do I use to create the .MP2 file " do this for (wave,ac3,mp3,etc) to mp2: open HeadAC3he and load in the "Source file" the audio.ac3 !(or other format) in "destination format" select "mp2" . click in "options" and select in the "downmix type": sorround2 click in options again and select: channel mode: dual channel bitrate: as desired(use the arrows) hint: best is 128,160 or 192! another hint: normalize to 98% cos some sources are too loud. resample to 44.1k if your player don't suport 48k. click "start" wait a little....that's all! :) |
hi jorel..
Thanks for your response.. I'm having a problem w/ the sound being silent the first 12 seconds, THEN the sound kicks in. Example, when I finish convert the .WAV -> .MP2 in HeadAC3, I then drag the .MP2 file directly into PowerDVD (just to hear how it sounds) There is slience for 12 seconds, then the sound comes on. My goal is to create an .M2V file, and then MUX it w/ my .MP2 file into one final MPEG-2 clip. ..has gone unsuccessfully so far. Ok, here is my other problem. I don't know WHEN to create the .WAV file. A - do I create it from the finished CAPTURED .AVI file, and then create .....an IVTC script, and THEN frameserve it into TMPG to create an .M2V .....file, and THEN MUX the .M2V and .MP2 file into a final MPEG-2 clip OR, B - do I first create an .AVS script (cause the source needs to be IVTC'd) .....open this .AVS in vdub, THEN extract the .WAV file, THEN use HeadAC3 .....to create the .MP2 file, THEN continue (w/out audio) w/ my .AVS script .....in vdub and frameserve it into TMPG to a .M2V file, THEN finally, MUX .....the .M2V and .MP2 file into a final MPEG-2 clip - - pfew!! This (above) is my delima. -vhelp |
vhelp,
seems that the "B" option is better. a problem: i don't covert avis...only vobs!  you can cut out the 12 seconds using your audio editor :!: |
hi Jorel..
I've ben at it all afternoon today, and to no avail. I just can't get rid of the ~12 second delay. I've even tried the Delay: [ number ] ms (using all sort of values, but still no go. Looks like its only for PURE ac3 files :? hmm.. looks like I've ben missimformed (a friend from another forum) about using HeadAC3 w/ captured files. Looks like she was wrong, and that HeadAC3 ONLY WORKS w/ VOB and .D2V sources :!: :!: So, warnning to all you peoples that have Captured .AVI as your source when converting .WAV to .MP2 Doesn't work. Must be a bug in HeadAC3. I'm using v0.23a Thanks Jorel for trying to help out a friend. Enjoy the rest of the day he he.. -vhelp |
vhelp
are something "strange": you wrote... "I've even tried the Delay: [ number ] ms (using all sort of values, but still no go. Looks like its only for PURE ac3 files" and "Looks like she was wrong, and that HeadAC3 ONLY WORKS w/ VOB and .D2V sources" and more... "So, warnning to all you peoples that have Captured .AVI as your source when converting .WAV to .MP2 Doesn't work. Must be a bug in HeadAC3." i use HeadAC3 v0.23a too and have a "pre historic" ati allinwonder. 8O after rec a few minutes to my hd(video and wave file) i did a conversion to mp2 and all is OK! then i rip from audio cd a music and convert to: mp3,than this mp3 to wave, than to mp2,than to wave again. 8O and the "delay ms" is working in all situations! using the same HeadAC3he version(v0.23a) of course i listen it all and everything is ok! :!: and again ... if you open your wave or mp2 file in your wave editor (example:sound forge)you can cut the initial 12 seconds! i think that you have another problem cos HeadAC3he is working fine in all sources that i try! :? |
hi Jorel my pal..
I got it. I figure it out. I was doing something wrong in my steps. I guess it doesn't matter when you do it (I think) but that your time-line in vdub has to match that of TMPG's else, audio and video will be off. In my case, I have IVTC setup and ready in vdub.. then, I went into TMPG to do some finaling w/ some last minute settings (audio, you know) Then, for some strange reason, I stopped the frameserve, and did some other setting in vdub that I forgot (letterbox and resolution) then I re-did the frameserve back into TMPG. So, what was the problem ?? Simple, my stupidity. he he.. I "erased" the selected area in vdub's time-line and continued w/ the frameserve. So, the video and audio were starting at the beginning.. hence the 12 seconds of silence. Pretty clumsy of me, he he, don't you think ?? Hay, Jorel, I did try the 112k autio (like Kwag uses) and to my ears, sounded just as good. He's right though. Does sound just as good, and w/ less bitrate to throw around and waist he he.. Thank you for your help.. really appreciated. -vhelp |
i'm happy too! stupidity?..forgot what you did?...was doing something wrong? hey, it's not you... it's me! 8O  |
