Possible to convert DVD to audio CDs?

Hello all.

I recently ripped the audio portion from three DVD concerts into either .wav or .MP3 format and put them on to a MD with no problem. But now I want to convert them to an audio cd so I can listen to them either in my car or home stereo cd player. Neither player supports .MP3s to let you know :D

The size of the files are not an issue since they are about 100MB but it's the length of the concert. All three are about 110mins long and when I try using EZ Cd creator it gives me a warning stating the content will not fit on the current media (80min Cd-R).

Is there any solution to this?

Thanx

the reason your files wont fit on a CD-R is because the mp3's are being converted to wav files and then being burned onto the disc. Wav files are a lot bigger than mp3, and in this case the wav file is too big to fit onto a CD-R. I would recommend using a program called musicutter to cut the mp3 into separate tracks, and then burn them onto 2 or more CD-R's.

Yes I know that .wav files are much larger than .MP3 files. But like I said that's not the issue since the files, which will be or are converted to .MP3, are only 100MB each max in size. It's the length, 110mins.

Also, I don't want to put them on to 2 CD-Rs for the sake of portability.

Hi TCC,

The problem is that CD audio is a constant bit rate, and what you see is what you get
That is, a 74 minute CD-R can fit 74 minutes, and a 80 minute CD-R can fit 80 minutes, etc. No more, no less. There's no compresion there at all.

Does anyone think it would be possible to create a kind of eXtendedAudioCD? :?
