KDvD and DvD Authoring needed

so now that the portugueese forum is up,,,
we should look into a DvD Authoring forum for kdvd's and skvcds to kdvd,,etc.....

need y'all input's,,,

looking for the best authoring app to author dvd's from vob's , mpg's,
kvcd's, avi, etc...

seems like the ones ive tried lack one feature or another,,,
either they make great transitions, chapters, allow svcd's, but
bite when it comes to menu creation, or crash when making an image
(i.e. ulead MFactory and too many chapter points not compliant or something). Been trying all kinds for the past week now, with no real
satisfying results....not sure if its because , most of them, are trials or betas, or demos,,hence not all features work properly..

anywayz,,,your suggestions are much appreciated,,,

Hey zoot,

Have you tried the new DVD authoring program from Pegasys-inc.com (TMPGEnc DVD Author)
It's free for 30 days 8)

You could also try dvd-lab,
http://www.mediachance.com/files/dvdlabup0505.exe

It is still in beta at the moment but shows a lot of promise for streams that are not strictly compliant.

Check the forums here for support.

Thanks go to Jorel for originally posting info on this application. :D :flip:

havent' tried the TmpgencDvdAuthor one,,,heard that there were synch issues and it worked best with tmpenc files, which is fine for kvcd's n all,,but i cap a lot of tv shows with my Radeon too.

I first tried dvdlab 'bout three weeks ago or so. the first release 4.10 was pretty good. 4.21 got better, 4.27 fixed a LOT of bugz,,,and just after i posted last night i saw that oscar has a new 5.05 release out.
Tried that and i solved My particular issues. Gotta say, im really liking this
app a lot. Seems to have found it's niche.
I'm doing an image as we speak.
Just wish Maestro would make it easier to do menus though.
I like being able to incorporate subs, o.g. chapters n all....

now about this DvD Forum...... :P

I use Dvd menu builder to do my menus with maestro, now if it was as easy to do menus in maestro as it is in dvdlab that would be something.
