KVCD: Nero won't take the M2V file?

Hello,
I have been trying to make my first KVCD and I keep failing. I have been trying with the attack.mpg sample on kvcd.net and I have used just about every kvcd template and they all fail. Is there a standard template to use?I have noticed that the file outputs for the kvcd templates are either m1v or m2v... is this what is affecting my failures? I have also removed the "create compliant vcd" as specified in the guides.

Thank you all in advance.

so, are you trying to convert an avi file to (mpeg vcd) or an mpeg to (mpeg vcd)???

Just save target and download one of the template to your desktop. then open Tempenc and hit the load button on the bottom. then press the browse button for the video field and locate your video file, after that, under "stream type" choose "System (Video+Audio)" then the output file will end with the mpeg extension hehe :Ds... if you leave the checkbox on ES (Video Only), the output file will be an m1v extension... m1v are suppose to be combine with another audio file ussally end with mp2.

.
.
remember, that DVD players are built around "compliancy" They require
an video and audio file (combined) not separated :!:

When Nero see's the .m2v or .m1v, it spits out that it can't complete, and
just stops dead.

When Nero see's an .MPG file, (mpeg-1 or mpeg-2) and it's not in the
"compliant" mode, it may issue a "warning" but allow you to proceed to
burn anyways.

Most these Author apps are very scrutney though.

Hope that made some sense :)

Hi,With nero if you are just trying to see what the mv1 file looks like on your dvd player with out adding the sound then you have to burn it as data and not as vcd.

Hi Fuderyuu, nero wont burn a m1v or m2v file cause there is no stream
on it, you can burn an mpeg file even with out audio stream, all you need to do is open tmpeg tools and in the Multiplex tap process the m2v to get you stream mpeg and then you can burn it with Nero. :D

Hi all.. thank you all VERY VERY much for your quick responses, I apologize for not letting you know how things went but i have been away all weekend. I think my problem is as lanvo stated, i must have chosen video only. I will try again with the test file from kvcd.net and tryi again and let you know.
If this works then YAY!!! But will still have one more question, does anybody have a template they prefer using? is there a basically a *standard* that you guys prefer for quality and size alocation?
thank you all again. :D :D :D :D
