KVCD: Problems burning with Nero

I've just made my first KVCD.All went well. The file sie is 629mbs and the audio+video length is about 84 mins.My problem is wit5h nero. When I load it up in Nero, uncheck compliant cd it goes way past 800mbs(red lines).Do I have to redo this kvcd?
I know with vcd/svcd it's not the size of the file but the size of the audio+video file.Is this the same with KVCD.If so how the heck to I get it to fit on the 700mb CD-R??
Any responses would be much appreciatted.

Welcome Fistandantilus,

Could you try loading your muxed .mpg file in VDCDEasy :?:
And also, make sure you mux your video and audio with BBMpeg. Not with TMPEG.
Use this screenshot as a guide:

I totally disagree with that :!: :!:

I do all my muxing with TMPGENC and I never, never ever, had any size problem ! The file size if even smaller than with BBMPEG.

But you have to be very carrefully about the muxing mode : never let TMPGENC choose it automatically !
Set manually to MPEG1 (VCD non compliant) or MPEG2 (Super VideoCD VBR) after having load the video !

Hi Phil,

The muxing produced by TMPEG is different than the one produced by BBMpeg or Mplex. You'll see more compatibility with BBMpeg's muxed files than with TMPEG's muxing. This has been a fact for quite a while now. There are many DVD players that just don't play correctly when you mux with TMPEG, but play flawlessly when muxed with BBMpeg. I have 5 DVD players, and one of them (forgot which now!) doesn't work correctly when playing TMPEG muxed MPEG files, but all 5 players play correctly when playing BBMpeg muxed mpeg files.

Fistandantilus? Where have I heard that before? That name stirs up cobwebs in my brain...

Fistandantilus 08-22-2003 08:20 PM

LOL.Dragonlance is where the name comes from.Plus you may have seen this name on many other forums as I have been using it for over 6 years now.
BTW kwag thanks for the help. It's been along time since I had to use bbmpeg and was lost so I went with your first one and used vcdeasy.I made a bin/cue of the file and then used nero to burn it.Worked good.Only problem I had was a little jerkiness but I think that is due to me not checking the inverse telecine.I am trying it again with tmpgenc and inverse telecine checked.
