Authoring: Mixing different audio formats, like AC3 and MP2 ?
hi everybody,
is it allowed by dvd-specifications to mix up tracks with ac3 (5.1 ch) and mp2 audio, authored to a single vts? regard, ***mfb*** |
Yes

Actually, the specs say that to have a MP2 track you must have at least 1 AC3 or PCM track, so you are 100% on spec.

Because (beside the specifications) and here it comes .. you said "single VTS".... and thats the point as within a VTS diff. Moviestreams should have the same AR, Size and Audioformat. Shure you can try it .... but your DVD becomes only readable by a few players. |
tnx for answering that fast. the reason why asked, is because i've got a warning message when i authored this tracks with dvd-lab. i wanted to try it anyway and burned them to disk...the first track (with ac3 audio) came out with no sound (just some ugly beeps) on my standalone, the other two tracks (with mp2 audio) played without problems.
well, is there way to do a proper authoring for this combination? regards, ***mfb*** |
DVDlabPro gots a support of Multiple VTS ... but its very complicated to get VTS Streams rigth via a VMG Menue accessed!
And some Mencoder encoded streams wont be muxed correctly! So as in case of professional DVD authoring get MaestroDVD!! (maybe on Ebay as not sold anymore cause the rights are bought by Apple Computer) ... or Scenarist which on the other Hand is the State of art, but Looks alwfull, gots a userinterface whichs alwfull and costs a HELL! If you just want to do easy (non multiple audio) mutliple VTS DVDs then get TmpgENc DVD Author. |
