This DLL belongs to avisynth and is installed with it ! It's not possible to miss it.

Once again you are asking stupids questions with no real meanings just to spoil people's time here. I'm really pissed of this behaviour.

I couldn't find it in AVISYNTH folders when I downloaded it, and only found out I needed it when I used KVCD player.

Avisynth is not something you Download but something you INSTALL !
And the INSTALLER of Avisynth put the dll in the directory.

SO I repeat : there is NO WAY to miss this dll !

Moreover, this dll is not needed by KVCD player or any other players. It is needed by avisynth itself if you use DirectShowSource in the script.

I you have used this, then your original problem was NOT that wmp does not open the script BUT that the script generated an error ('"No function called DirectShowSource").

 Do you plan to continue this for a long time ?

That will play .avs files just fine.

Hi guys!
I also did a small player when I was testing some directx playback routines.
If you would like to check it out, here it is: smplay.zip
It's not as small as KVCDPlayer, but I think it will load very fast too and it has some nice AR settings, fullscreen and desktop playback, volume setting, frame step/skip... and it plays .avs files fine too!

Dialhot 01-05-2005 04:16 AM

I'll try that :-D

WMP classic (Gabest) doesn´t play well my d2v files

Hi all,
after reading the whole thread, I decided to post my doubt here, even I almost changed my mind about what I wanted to do.
I usually employed TMPGenc preview to take a look at d2v files and avs scripts. I then used VirtualDub, that I like a lot, since it plays avs scripts, almost smoothly (TMPGenc jumps frames), and you can adjust aspect ratio to see it as it will be later on your TV.
I then tried WMP classic , and plays avs well, but not as fast as VD, and I cannot adjust aspect ratio. But when I try to play d2v files (for instance to select trimming) it plays really bad, like a matrix of isolated pixels. Is that the normal behaviour?. Has anything to do with the fact I'm using DVD2AVIdg?. I tried putting DVD2AVIdg.vfp in the same folder as WMPC but it did nothing, of course.
For the rest of things, it looks nice, and seems to play lot of file types...

I never had to preview a d2v (what is the purpose ?) but this kind of preview happens to me on TMPGENC sometimes and it is due to the convertion in RGB24. But as this is just for a preview...

I'm sure there'll be a better way, but I find it fast to select where to trim...
And preview plays really bad, almost unrecognisable :(

I do hope that I really catch the point :) :

a) If you want to playback d2v files, u need the d2vsource.ax codec in your system (MPC inside delivers also the core). But AFAIK only the old d2v file architecture is supported (no DGindex etc outputtet ones, only from DVD2AVI)

b) Trimming? Just open your .d2v using virtualdubMods "Open File as Avisynth", there you can choose "all" and the "mpeg2source" command option in the dropdown of the "Open File as Avisynth" Requester.
In VdubMod you can easely trim as known from Avis, finally go into the scripteditor (above right) and choose "Import Framesets as trims" which generates the correct trim command line in the generated avs file by VDubMod out of the cuts in VdubMod itself.

digitall.doc 02-02-2005 04:26 PM

Yes Inc, you caught it  .
a) as I'm trying to plat a d2v file generated with DVD2AVIdg, I'm afraid I won't be able to play it with MPC :(
b) I followed your 'guide', even it's a little different in my version (I'm with VDMod 1.5.10.1, what's your version?), I managed to load the d2v file, I inserted marks and then imported the trimming in the script editor. I then closed VDmod and lost the trim line in the script: I'm sure I missed the place where I had to hit 'save'.
... so I think I'll stick to VD and forget WMPC... for this d2v purpose.

Thanx everybody for your help.
