Access violation with Fluxsmooth

Hi, first time using Fluxsmooth. I am getting this Avisynth access violation on my video playback after encode. I'm using Bilinear, Fluxsmooth () and Blockbuster all with Avisynth 2.07. Do I need to put somthing in between the () ? or just leaving the default should be fine? maybe I'll try an older version of Fluxsmooth and see what happens.

Hi Holomatrix,

Make sure you're using the latest versions of the filters.

Hi, yes, I am. Fluxsmooth 0.4 and Blockbuster 0.7. I tried Fluxsmooth 0.3 and it went fine. wierd. maybe Sans should look into this. Running FS 0.4 on a P4 1.8 with CCE. the vaf file goes through but then the mpv file goes real fast adn gives that avisynth violation 0.4 works fine with TMPG but just not multi-pass with CCE. (for me anyway)

There's currently a known issue involving an access violation when Flux (and other filters) is used between a crop and a resize. This may or may not be a problem with Flux itself (i.e. it might be in the Avisynth core).

Try running Flux after the resize. If you're doing that already, post your script and I'll try to duplicate it :).

Oh, well I'm using this script with dvd2svcd;

[AVISYNTH_BilinearResize_FluxSmooth_Blockbuster]
0=BilinearResize(^TargetWidth,^TargetHeight)
1=loadplugin(!fluxsmooth.dll)
2=loadplugin(!blockbuster.dll)
3=fluxsmooth()
4=Blockbuster( method="noise", detail_min=1, detail_max=10, variance=.5, seed=1 )
!fluxsmooth.dll=C:\Program Files\DVD2SVCD\fluxsmooth\fluxsmooth.dll
!blockbuster.dll=C:\Program Files\DVD2SVCD\blockbuster\blockbuster.dll

running with CCE 2.66, 2 pass, FluxSmooth 0.3 works but 0.4 not. Do a test and let me know.
Thanks

Unfortunately I don't have CCE so can't duplicate it in this manner. Can you get it to crash using either Media Player or TMPGEnc (perhaps using 2-pass with the latter)?

Holomatrix 01-06-2003 03:28 PM

Hi. version 0.4 seems to work with TMPG 2-pass, just not CCE. maybe if there is someone else that is reading this thread can try a multi-pass CCE encode with Flux 0.4 and can let use know if it crashes for you to?

Holomatrix 01-08-2003 01:52 PM

Damn, FS v0.4 fails on my AMD box with CCE multi-pass also but not v0.3

I honestly can't think what would be causing it, since it apparently works fine with other encoders (e.g. TMPGEnc and XViD). I also can't understand why it would work ok in one-pass mode but not multi-pass...

Holomatrix 01-08-2003 03:19 PM

Oh well, maybe it's time for me to give TMPG another try :) :)
Since I convert DVD to CVD to you recommend me going with the KVCD LBR 352X480 template ?

Try KVCD 352x480 PLUS, or if you want close SVCD compatibility, go with SKVCD which is 352x480 MPEG-2 :wink:

Ok, thanks bud I'll try those out. Which one of those templates would give better quality if I was going to cram a movie on one cd? last question, promise :)

KVCD 352x480 PLUS :wink:

Sorry, but should I still use the GOP structure of 1,18,2,24 VBV 112? with DVD2SVCD

Try this: 1-12-2-1-24 with standard VBV buffer size of 112. That would be for SKVCD and you burn that as SVCD.
For KVCD 352x480, that's MPEG-1, so you burn as VCD with compliance checks OFF. You may want to try 1-12-1-1-24 the "bleeding edge" GOP :lol: and see if you like it :!: That's currently being reviewed :wink:
