LegalClip()
GripCrop( width=528, height=480, overscan=2 )
vobsub("K:\temp\VTS_01_VSUB_P1")
FaeryDust()
Convolution3D(preset="movieLQ")
GripSize()
GripBorders()
LegalClip()

Sampler(length=24)
## MPEG size = ((Total frames/MovieTimeInMinutes)/24) * MPEG sample file size ##
I copied and pasted the script you recommended in an earlier post into fitcd. :lol: I did leave vobsub() out of the script. My question is when I started the encoding it was going to take about 13 hours with my athon 1.4,256 ram, is that about how long it is suppost to take. :? I plan on trying the new version 5 of Dust with your script. Will useing version 5 and SpaceDust() speed up the encoding time?

Yes, it can really take that long to encode a movie. :(
spacedust() will speed things up... :D

Thanks for the reply. :mrgreen: I will try the ver. 5 and hope that will speed things up a bit. :roll:

Got a Thunderbird 1.33 GHz, 512 mb ram and it takes from 8 to 16 hours to encode depending the filters used, the movie covering of the screen (letterboxed or not) and the lenght of the movie.

So, that is normal.

It is a real pitty. Because to be able to buy one of those now, here in Argentina I would have to work for 4 to 6 months, and be able to survive without eating.

Don't worry Gaudi, I'm waiting for the price to drop too. They are very expensive right now. In the mean time, I'll byte my teeth really hard waiting and wishing I had one :mrgreen:

Cheaper to buy two Athlons ;).

Read some post in Doom9 about someone with a dual P4, encoding movies at almost realtime.

Everyone´s dream...

(at least mine)

Oh no :!: , the electricity bill will increase because then you have to buy an extra "Air Conditioner" to cool your room :mrgreen:

Well, pretty sure of that. I encode with a single Athlon 1.33 GHz, and leave my room closed. Whenever I come back, it looks like a heater has been left on.
My whole computer (the case) is at around 50°C.

The diskettes come out very, and I mean very, warm.

Look at the letters: ATHLON and see that if you change the order, you can say: "HOT LAN" :mrgreen: Coincidence :roll: :lol:

Hmm, my Athlon XP 2100+ runs like a dream. Besides, I'm in Canada -- any extra heat is welcome :mrgreen:.

dionysus 02-13-2003 09:49 PM

yea the longest it's taken me to ever encode one movie has been max 8 hrs no matter what movie it is, filters doesn't matter. Although like sansgrip said, living in canada having more than one computer would jack the electricity bill but would sure help the gas bill :wink:

Jellygoose 02-14-2003 08:45 AM

Have you tried FaeryDust C3d combination? I have a XP1800+, and some movies ARE taking 12 hours to encode with this combination...
