Filter for colour bleed?
Does anyone know of a filter/s to fix VHS colour bleed? The source is a well used VHS tape and the colours bleed past their edges in all directions. Any suggestions?
FYI: The source is Blues Clues (live action on top of animated background). |
Hi MrTibs,
I think the best way to correct that before capture is to use a hardware TBC ( Time Base Corrector ). I'm not sure of any specific model right now, but I know for sure that it makes wonders because my Panasonic DMR-E20 has one built-in :!: -kwag |
Thanks Kwag. I think I'd save money if I went out and bought an new tape. For now, I'll record it as is since my 3 yr old doesn't care.
This is an interesting problem though. It would be great to have a filter (free) solution for situations where you can't buy an new copy like old home videos. |
Hey MrTibs,
Have you tried the Flaxen filter in Vdub  It might be what you're looking for :!: -kwag |
IIRC the flaxen filter has a "Chroma Shift" setting that may help you.
Some other handy filters for VHS captures are Cnr2 and GuavaComb, plus SansGrip port of GhostBuster. |
