Why no GripCrop/GripSize in new Avisynth script?

Kwag,

Why did you drop the GripCrop in the latest script? I noticed it is still in the two Avisynth 2.x scripts?

Is GripCrop something that is not supported in the latest version or is there benefit to using the BicubicResize?

I did read awhile back that is was not supported in the BETA. If it is still not supported is there any word on if it will be supported in the future?

Someone compiled GripCrop to work with AvSynth 2.5x. I saw a link somewhere in the forum. The one at SansGrip's site doesn't support 2.5x. That's why I didn't include it on the 2.5x script. When we get more tests done with that version, then I'll post a script. In the meantime, I suggest you use AviSynth's internal resizing.

I've been using Gripfit for avisynth 2.52 and it seems to work fine! Give it a try!

I've been using ot as well with the 2.52 script and I am very happy with the results. :D :D

I've tried it and it seems to work but does anyone know if the modified version works totally in YV12 colourspace and does not do YV12 > YUY2 conversion and back again. I think that working totally in YV12 is giving us better quality and speed since it is the native colourspace of Mpeg using fewer "bits" and better structure for filtering. Pity we have to do the conversion at the end for Tmpgenc. "Where is Sansgrip"

Both (original and my modified version) don't have any built in resize filter. They just use the Avisynth's resize filters for the job. So the AV 2.5 version should be completely YV12.

Thanks Latexxx. I used the info() command in the script to make sure also that the colourspace did not change and confirms also. I've been using it for a while now.
