Avisynth: How to encode 29.971 fps... or 29.972?

I downloaded this movie and its 29.971 fps..

also, the other movie I downloaded before was 29.972 fps

it seems that when I encode it to 29.970 in TMPGenc,

the movie jerks along the whole time...

is there anyway to encode these framerates?

 ??

You have to encode at 29.97fps.
Check avisynth's function "AssumeFPS" or "ChangeFPS" http://www.avisynth.org/index.php?page=FPS

And to avoid problems of synch in audio, just let tmpgeng encode both audio and video at the same time : the result is less acurate than doing it separatly but you are sure to have an audio synchronized on the video !

There's a program called Avifrate 1.10 it does good job for me when I have such files.

This soft change framerate only in the header of the file and can lead to big synch problems if you encode separately audio and video.
For a framerate of 29.971, thats okay, but with 29.975 you will have 0.6 sec of lack after one hour of movie, and 1.3 after 2 hours :!:
