Avisource couldn't locate a decompressor for fourcc mp42?
 

Hi ,i've been telling a buddy about kvcd and he is clueless with computers and he wants to do music videos,anyway i agreed to do them for him and he brought me an avi with the above codec.It plays fine on my computer but when i put it itno a script(version3) i get Avisouce couldn't locate a decompressor for fourcc mp42.

ANy ideas

You should have ffdshow on you PC that is a directshow filter taht handle the MP4 V2 (taht is why you can see it) but you miss the codec for this format (and that is why avisynth fails).

Either find a codec (it is included in ACE Mega Codecs Pack for instance, but it's a huge codec) or change "Avisource" to "DirectshowSource" in your script. That can fix the problem.
