jorel,
You do not need anything in script. Use TMPGEnc set to Center (keep aspect ratio) for video arrange method and 16:9 Display for Aspect ratio. Is very slow, there might be a better way. You should not need to do this, TV should do it for you.

oh thanks for that hint (that i don't knew) but it's not to use in tmpgenc,
it's for avisynth script to encode in QuEnc!
i need to know how i do the script using lanczos4resize to test!

For sure it's slow ! And for sure there is a better way ! We use avisynth for that purpose ;-)

I didn't understand what are your needs Jorel. Your 4:3 picture is fullscreen or with black borders ? And when you say "16:9" do you mean anamorphic ?

Second : do you use moviestacker ? Do you use gripfit ?

jorel 04-23-2004 06:03 PM

second question is the first:

i love and use MovieStaker and sometimes use gripfit!

first question is second:

i want ot load a script using lanczos4resize but not for resize.
i want encode like the source
 without change the aspect radio (kvdv 720x480)
only using lanczos4resize to give little sharpness.
but i don't know how it will show in the tv!?!?
will be egg-head?..anamorphic?
this i don't know and if is usable!
Phil,if i was unclear, please ask again my friend, you know my limitations!
thanks!

1/ using a resizer without changing the size do nothing. Almost all the resizer are optimized to avoid to process a picture if there is no need (in other words, if you don't change the size).

2/ for what you want to do (go from 720*480 to 720*480) you can't control the A/R on the 16:9; I meant that the target will appear on the 16:9 screen the same way that the original video appears on it !
All depend on zoom mode that is supported by your TV set. Some cuts the picture, others distort the image to fit it into the 16:9 screen... But you can't do anything to avoid that.

than if i want or need, the script can only have the source and some filters like

asharp, deen or temporalcleaner....or MA without gripfit
 without any resize :?:

"....same way that the original video appears on it ! "
that is the target....means that i will get like the original dvd, right Phil?
my tv have zoom but it's not important, i will get another tv later
and don't want to use overscan or resize in my encodes too !
:D

i'm stup and always need confirmations...
