White static?

Hi

I'm not sure how to accurately describe my problem. Sometimes my encoded mpeg files have white static or noise appearing along the outside right edge. There is nothing consistent about it. I can use the same script for 2 different encodes...one has the white static and the other does not. Sometimes it appears as a blinking white line. I can re-encode using the same source and script and the static will not appear. The only consistent thing is that if there is white static, it only appears on the right edge.
I put this in the AviSynth forum because it only happens when I use an avs script.
I use AviSynth 2.54 and the latest TMPGEnc. I make sure to turn off any antivirus or other resident program before encoding.

Can anyone tell me what causes this static?

Thanks

Do you happen to have aSharp somewhere in your script?

Yes I do. After resizing. If this is an Asharp "feature", it is random as well. I usually can rerun the encode and the static will not appear.

The filter is known to cause odd artifacts sometimes. The coder is known for his style "code-and-forget" so aSharp could be the one to blame.

Thanks for the info. I'll see what I can do without asharp.
