which vcr to buy for recording/capturing video?

My vhs capture is so noisy it is unwatchable:( I tried to correct this with filters but that just made it blurry and noisy. I've verified that the vcr is the problem- either it's shot or the heads are dirty.

What's a very good vcr to use for playback and tv tuner? Also anyone have any suggestions on cleaning vcr heads?

thanks

hey thanx zTr,

I was beginning to think I should have posted this under "converting vinyl lps to mp3"

My receiver is also a JVC so I'll look into that one.

thx
