What are some good AVI editing tools?

I was wondering what program is good for editing my avi files. I want to cut out certain parts of the film. I have a lot of family home videos and want to make a dvd with all the christmas mornings and stuff like that.

Thanks

Branden

G'day Branden,
without a doubt Virtualdub is the best for editing avi files, you can get it at sourceforge.

V-Dub is the top utility without a doubt.
V-Dub Synch is pretty good, el jefe uses it,,,

depending on what u want to do check out divx-digest's listing.. for other ideas,,, unless u want to buy some commercial appz.
