analog vs digital capture File size differences?
Hello all!
Scenarios: a) 1-> (Scenalizeer) Analog capture drom VHS to to DV2 avi at 740x576. 2-> Load into premiere and do some editing. 3-> Export 704x576 and blur filter with VideoServer. 4-> Compress with TMPEGENC and KVCDx2 PAL templates. (704x576 CQ50 and strange matrix!!) Results: 111 min -> 1.2 GB. Dont fit on 80' CDR!!! b) DVD RIP. SmartRipper -> DVD2AVI -> TMPEGENC and KVCDx2 PAL templates (704x576 CQ60 and strange matrix!!) Results: 104 min -> 802 MB. ¿Why analog compress its over digital compress in spite of less quality analog source compresión? ¿Anybody can help? Thanks. |
Was your analog capture a full screen capture?
Maybe that's why. kwag |

Full screen videos have more visible pixels than a wide screen 16:9 ( with black bars ).
That's why the file size is larger. The templates work best with 16:9 videos. With full screen, you might get 90 minutes or so in a 80 minute CD-R. kwag |
