How do you capture surround sound?
 
I would like to capture VHS tapes which are surround sound but the avi's only have stereo sound- is there a way to capture the Dolby surround?

Hi ren:

I believe the answer is simpler than we thought. If you capture a VHS to AVI, and the audio in the VHS is Dolby Surround, the captured audio will already have the surround information. Because Dolby Surround is encoded in regular stereo channels in a VHS tape. So when you encode your video, the audio is being encoded to mp2 audio. But all information will still be there. So your Dolby signals should still be there. Just be sure that you are capturing your audio as 44.1Khz stereo.
