The 2.8 GHz 820 dual core is performing very well for me compared to the old P4 2.53GHz.

Althought it seems about the same speed when running a single program, it handles multiple processing very, very well. For example:

8 concurrent DVD2AVI's
1 concurrent Nero Burn
1 concurrent DVDShrink
1 concurrent HeadAc3he

The old machine would either hang up or go super slow. This one just breezes through. :D

The bottleneck here is more the disc than the CPU. DVD2AVI do not take much CPU but if you start 2 of them on a "normal" (;-)) PC, all will be super super slow. Just because of disc transfer !
Shrink and Headeache is an other story. And I hope you won't take the habit to burn a disc while doing all of this. You were lucky here to have a sucess. Beguiner's luck. But Murphy is watching you and will give you a visit very soon ;)

:D Not a chance. This was only to a R/W for testing. I normally run nothing else with Nero, having had bad experiences in the past. Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't.
