file managers that copy files?

Does any1 know "file manager(s)" that copy files optimizing the process ?

I mean, not the "windows explorer conventional" copy/transfer mode. I would like to know if there is any file manager that has intelligent copy/transfer mode. To copy Files from medias to HD.

Freewares ones would be great :D

Dialhot 10-28-2005 03:23 AM

Intelligent in which way ?

I don't see any intelligence in copying a file

sparskter 10-28-2005 08:44 AM

So there is none ? :D

So, if there is no "optimized" ones, there is any1 that show any nice "detailed" stuffs while copying ? Like transfer rate ?

Dialhot 10-28-2005 09:24 AM

I wonder how I would use my insivibility...

/COPYALL :: COPY ALL file info (equivalent to /COPY:DATSOU).
Useful for mataining folders permissions when copying to another workstation.

Quote:

/MIR :: MIRror a directory tree (equivalent to /E plus /PURGE).
Very useful for backup. Imagine you have a AD (Windows 2003 Active Directory) with the users folders. With Mirror you update your backup the smart way: old files are deleted, new files are copied, unmodified ones are skipped (very fast) !

Quote:

/Z :: copy files in restartable mode.
Restartable mode is great when copying large files: if your computer crashes you can continue where it stopped later! Imagine how useful is this when you are copying a large folder between two pcs on a local network.

note: it works only folders-to-folders; this is not a big problem: just create a folder, move your files and use it.

I discovered it last year too. Be carefull : in the ressource kit there are other tools taht can screw up the NTFS table of your disk, but also several other usefull ones.
