Running on PC-BSD right now
So my quest for the most operating systems running simultaneously in history is one step closer. I purchased this ol dell for cheapos. And after ubuntu gave me problems about my network card, i decided wander in the pastures of bsd. So far i am pleased. So i figure if i am going to run a server, why not make it my firewall as well.
I am looking into a firewall or program that would limit bandwith on certain ports or ipaddresses. And im currently looking into remote connection, from my ubuntu, so i wouldnt need to have a monitor on this box. Long live BSD. |
Well i got the firewall thing started with this link http://www.onlamp.com/pub/a/bsd/2006...BSDBasics.html
but now i am on the remote desktop part. I guess i will finish this when i get home from work. |
Hint: VNC ;)

Thanks kwag, i was looking at some forums and they suggested the same. As far as bandwith shaping. I think at this moment recompiling the kernel is a little over my head. altq it think was what i needed to use. But so far so good. Just need to get everthing where it needs to go and i am fine. Oh and btw the congrats to dialhot for taking on a larger role in the kvcd world. This has basically been my home for knowledge in most aspects of technology these days.
