Port scanned
Does anyone know about port scans,i use a firewall and my ISP has been port scanning me for the past few months ,is this normal
They are TCP port scans |
No it is not and your provider actually don't do that. Or you should change very fast :-)
Do you remember which ports were scanned ? |
Thanx Phil
Its different most of the times but a few of the common ones are 135 and 445 |
Like my ISP too.
My ISP name: CIA My connection: Wireless connection I got scannings on all ports. Do you know what is happening :?:    |
135 is actually the DNS port and 445 is the file sharing function of win2000/XP/2003.
445 is alarming as some virii use this chanel to enter into computers. So block it. 135... you can let it open with not fear : your ISP is only trying to identify you to see if it needs to reference your IP into its Naming Directory. Note that for privacy reason I blocked it also. But are you sure that are not actual OUTGOING communications ? Edit:Actually 135 and 445 are used by a virus. So that is somehow common to be probed on that ports. That's how tojan try to enter a PC. BLOCK THESE PORTS ! |
Phil if you don't mind i sent a PM
Could you just look when you get some free time Thanx Buddy |
