Linux MandrakeMove

Just to see how it works and to try out I want to run Linux from a CD.

I found MandrakeMove as it also should be able to run from CD and they do say it gots the best hardware support .....

My intentions:

- Editing video
- encoding video (ffmpeg,mencoder)
- Onlinestuff
- capturing

Would capturing using a Philips/zoran Chip Based Card of the Miro DCseries also be possible ... or even using my new philips 7134 based card?

My PC is running under Win2000 and gots 2 HDs, ... both got 2 partitions.
So ... is it also possible to "install" a complete Linux to one Partition of my 2nd internal HD ... so I can choose at startup which to boot ... Linux or Windows2000 ??

Thanks !

Yes, but I suggest that for best captures, get a WinTV PVR 250, so you can capture real-time MPEG-2 at up to 12,000Kbps.
Then transcode to anything else ;)

Yep.
Knoppix will install a dual boot loader for you.

a) money money money ... Im not in a rich man world

b) I just rembered that I maybe hered about Zoran/Philips Chip support under Linux ... as that chip (DC10/DC30) really is the best one I have seen till now 8O ... So I would like to put the DC30 in the Linux machine (if its really supportet) and the 7134 Chip based card in my actual Win PC :)

EDIT:
