KVCD: Various compatibility questions...
 

ok i used the 6 sample kvcd compatibility cd (provided by the generous kwag) but only the 3 352x240 resolutions worked. so i made a compatibility cd of my own to test skvcd at

352x240 (didn't work of course)
352x480 (fine maybe needs overscan dunno)
480x480 (need overscan 2-3?, but otherwise fine)
528x480 AND
544x480 (made with default k3 mpg2 template with only resolution changed, clear but warped, huge black bars left and right, top and bottom continues offscreen? any fix?? 16:9??? (have 4:3 tv))
704x480 (green mask, but perfectly clear when paused???? maybe fixed with settings?)
720x480 freezes, needs eject

any idea what i can try to get 704 or 5xxs working? i can try to post a screen shot if needed.

There is no "of course". This res is as valid as any other one and should work.

If you set correctly tmpgenc, and it seems you did it well for other resolution, then these problems show that your DVD can't handle this resolution correctly.

No hope to see tham so. Sorry.

Or perhaps you can try real 29.970. Thats will ask more bit to be encoded but it can work.
