It's using the conf file well mencoder says so :) The colours on the other hand aren't different than usual :?
EDIT when not using a fake avi but the real one the colours are now correct :) |

Koekis, I think a further workout to get even Makeavis inputs correct related to colors, should be done in a "separate Thread" Thats why I did "split" this thread so Prodater gots his Thread again on its purpose :wink: |

Koekies,
Makeavis usage means, your stream will be handled by the ffvfw.dll in your system. So which Makeavis are u using? means: Did you install that Standalone Makeavis or does your Makeavis result from a ffvfw full install??? Because, can it be that theres somethign set wrong in your ffvfw configurator ? Im not shure if this affects also mencoder internally Makeavis decoding, but to me that would be logical!? |
I got the one from prodater's mencoder with avisynth guide
http://cultact-server.novi.dk/kpo/av...S-20031113.exe and just installed this one http://cutka.szm.sk/ffvfw/ffvfw-20020827.exe to see wat this will do |
Quote:
(Didnt you noticed that by looking at the filename??) In case of full install at least get the one from Shodan! http://cultact-server.novi.dk/kpo/av...w-20031117.exe BUT! If you read my post above carefully you will see that you better stay with the standalone version! So do FULL-deinstall that 2002 build and reinstall the standalone version: ----- http://cultact-server.novi.dk/kpo/av...S-20031113.exe ---- |
Well I went to ffvfw's homepage :P I haven't installed it yet so I guess I won't do that then :)
But I allready had ffvfwAVIS-20031113.exe and it with that build I got wrong colours. |
So whats used by your system to decode your xvid source? As the Avisynth usage in your makeavis avi does refer to it.
Means: What tells "Gspot"! on your xvid source :?: |
Gspot says its using
Code:
(S) --> AVI Splitter --> ffdshow MPEG-4 Video Decoder --> (R) |
So, did you setup something in ffdshow?
Well I (personally) dont use FFdshow but the XVID codec itself for decoding but the koepi build one. May you deactivate the FourCC XVID decoding by ffdshow and install the latest XVID codec from koepis site. (that is a subject for Phil I think as he is more in that) http://koepi.roeder.goe.net/xvid.shtml |
I've also got koepies build on my computer :P But for some reason it allways uses ffdshow :? I'll see if I can turn it off.
EDIT in the ffdshow configuration I switched the decoder from libaccodec 2 xvid 1.0 is that supposed to work? Gspot still says it uses ffdshow. |
Hi guys!
I'm sorry to say but ever since I tried QuEnc and MEncoder I have claimed this color problem do exist. It seems the video encoded with MEncoder lacks red, or, is too blue (don't know how to explain it in a better way). The movies I have encoded on which this phenomenon is most visible are: Underworld and Gothika. These particular movies are quite blue in their original state (DVD/VOB) and became much more blue with MEncoder. With TMPGEnc this problem doesn't exists, at least not for me. Clips encoded with TMPGEnc looks exactly like the original (colorwise). Hit me with it! :) |
No hitting at all ;-) !
But as you see in case of XVID at Koekies we solved it (as it sounded like that). So maybe its really a build issue or so. Well .... But the real complicated thing is: So many people do use diff. Builds, do have diff. codecs and dif. codecs.conf files installed and so on .... and that really sucks in case of mencoder (at least when trying to support) ;-) |
@Phil,
I buddy could you comment on this latest discussians, meaning: Do you have problems also with VOBs sources. Sorry buddy, I believe you have already answered that but we really need to be pretty sure here. If by any means, you wouldn't have problems with VOB sources, could you check that FFvfw is not interfering with xvid decoding? Again I can already see you :twisted: at me because I know how careful you are when setting up your video decoders (that's how we meet remember? :lol:) Bottom line since you are very experienced on codecs can you give us some help so that koekies can have both XviD and FFvfw installed on his system but also having XviD decoding set up only with XviD by Koepi/Nic? BTW what does it look like when watching it in the TVset. Still color issue? Phew...! Hope you don't get mad at me, but in the end I believe that if someone can really crack this one it's going to be you since you are really experienced with codecs and because I really feel that it's codec related business. Some of us are having trouble, but some of us aren't. Too strange for me. Cheers PS - BTW nice match against England. I think that to be fair a result it should have ended 1-1. Even though Zizu is not in 100% shape he still can change a match score in 5 minutes. He still is the best soccer player, period. |

But also, I did only ONE vobs, so it's difficult to take conclusion, no ? Quote:

You know, red do not turns into green so you can't tell without a direct comparison of the two images. Quote:
(remember : i don't have any codec.conf file included in my system so all must be internal to mencoder). Quote:

I mean: this has gone crazy :lol: Quote:

How do you set up a system so that when decoding XviD streams it uses XviD codec instead of FFdshow or FFvfw? Quote:

Go figure... Quote:
All was warez for me :twisted: . Anything you would want: you named it and I had it the day after :lol: Then some metamorphoses started happening with me (usually called growth :lol:) and I started hating warez. Today I'm all for free software, and anything else I have on my system IS licensed. Boy, I miss the old days ;-) Quote:
And I did enjoy watching the match. Great defense by Barthes. Quote:
Nice fair play by Phil :wink: |

When I got my system screwed up related to codecs (remember the AC3 issue thread), ... tI did a big clean up and deinstalled all codecs and ds filters I really dont need :oops: Generally I use the "full" install of ffvfw (shodans nov2003 build) to decode almost all tpes of avi codecs except XVID which will be handled by the last XVID build of kopi. So for shure I did setup in ffvfw configuration NOT to handle XVID by ffvfw. So that latest ffdshow workout to get Makeavis working with the latest dshow build was never a subject for me as my ffvfw codec and its makeavis neer ended up in problems so : Never change a running system. I know that some users do report about explorer crashes whn using ffvfw but, ..... hummmmm .... Maybe theres a bug in the standalone installation of ffvfwMakeavis related to decoding Makavis "AVIS" ??? I dont know. The meriths till now I did handled via Zoomplayer but your advice on the codecs pack above sounds more senseful ;-) Im a bit afraid to install an "all in one" codecs pack as I got my "nice" experiences on such codecs packs ---- thats why maybe you trust on your "ghosted" backup -- just in case :) |

In the facts I just installed XVID, DIVX, ffdshow, Ligos, AC3Filter, Lame MP3, Huffyuv, Matroska... Just what I need. A new thing in 6.0 : you can install either the codec or the rendering directshow filter when this feature is existent (Divx and Xvid for instance). And the pack also come with tools (gspot, avicodec, dxman, aviutl,...) Note: The only thing strange I saw in this install is that the AC3 filter is used for any source format (besides the mp3 codec if the source is mp3 for instance) and if you deactive it, you don't have sound anymore :? I have to check that... |
Disabled xvid in ffdshow Gspot now says (S) --> AVI Splitter --> XviD MPEG-4 Video Decoder --> (R) and the colours are still wrong.
EDIT: Got the colours right :) in ffdshow configuration instead of disabling xvid codec just select xvid 1.0 instead of libavcodec |
