opinions on best DVD MPEG encoders?

Ok this might seem repetative but i can't help it :D

I just want opinions on what encoder people are using for dvd conversions.I see on a lot of websites like doom that they say nothing is better then CCE 2 pass,on other websites they say CCE is better only because of time .

I also see DIKO uses CCE quality based.

Please give your opinions

thanx

Actually people at D9 recommend the one-pass variable, quality-based that is, in CCE (aka RoBa, OPV etc.) That's my choice, too, Mencoder's not ready to deliver what I want and TMPGEnc's too slow and it lacks the quality in MPEG-2. You can use QCCE to determine the Q value in CCE just like with CQMatic and TMPGEnc.

Doom... Doom... hum... Isn't it the place where people say KVCD are crap and KDVD are not compliant ? :dark:

That reminds me of a popular song on radio, around 1987, from Paul Lekakis?

Doom Doom Doom,
Let's go back to my room,
So we can do it all night,
and you can make me feel right!

Sorry, it was: Boom Boom Boom :!:
:compress: :crashed:

(Not related to the doom subject in here now... )

OT: ...OH MY GOD! I remember that kiddy italo disco song very well as the "Minitecas" played that song in Venezuela again and again and again, ... YEP 1987! The boys loved it but the girls wanted Merengue !

But its the same. First Merengue at evening (and then later boom boom boom) ... uops . So girls just wanted it the other way around :) Girls often see things the other way around?! Isnt it?

I guess that's common worldwide.
When I was in Germany (1978-1979), it was "Disco" all night, and then Boom Boom Boom.
But if you are in Latin america, you could have: Salsa, Merengue, Cumbia, etc., and always followed by "Boom Boom Boom"

Back to topic
