KVCD: Test with kvcd templates failed?
hi,
I've done some test with the kvcd templates to find out which one to use encoding a captured film. All except one results in unviewable vcds. Maybe I'm doing something wrong (I'm relative new to the thing). Here is what I've done: 1.) Captured a 5min. sequence from TV using VirtualDup at a resolution of 720x576. Using this capture as input for all the following tests to produce comparable results. 2.) Use FitCD to create AviSynth scripts to resize the video to the input resolution of the template to test. 3.) Use TMPEGEnc to encode the video 4.) After encoding for all tests use VCDEasy to burn all MPEG1 files as VCD to one cdr and all MPEG2 files as SVCD to another cdr. Watching the disks in my dvd player (a Toshiba 220E) results in the following: KVCD 352x288 PLUS: works with the expected quality KVCD 352x576 PLUS: frozen image KVCDx2 704x576 PLUS: lots of colored blocks => unviewable KVCDx3 528x576 MPEG1: blank/black screen (no video) SKVCD 352x576 video is flickering like hell => unviewable KVCDx3 528x576 MPEG2: in the top half of the screen the video is shown two times next to each other, the bottom half of the screen is one large colored block Sound is ok with all templates, only video fails. Maybe I'm doing something wrong. Is there any way the get there templates work as expected? Holger |
its because the templates are non-standard and it seems like there only comptaible with three out of the ten of millions of dvd players on the market.
