Can KVCD give me better picture quality?

Hi,

I got a mpeg2 (720x576) file. The filesize is about 650MB and the video length is about 14 minutes. It is actually a wedding photos presentation for a friend. I only have a CD Writer. I have tried SVCD but I am not satisfied with the quality. Can KVCD give me better picture quality (assuming that my DVD player can play it).

If yes, which TMPGenc KVCD template? Please suggest the best 2 templates. If there is also other method (within KVCD world), do let me know.

Thanks in advance.

You are not satisfied with a a video of 650 MB for FOURTEEN MINUTES ?
Man ! You are hard to satisfy :-)

I can only see two things :
- this album has an audio that is in PCM and took A LOT of space !
- the original picture were ugly JPEG took in 320x200 pixels.

If both of this is true, then KVCD won't help you at all.

Else, yes KVCD can do something for you.

For your case tou can take any template you want and just change the resolution to 720*576. There is no diff in the templates except for the min and max video bitrate that are irrelevant in you case.
Take for instance KVCDx3 (the last ones).

Note: your goal is to restard from the beguining, right ? You are not intendig to improve you already existing MPEG2 ? Because this can't be done by any mean !
