TMPGEnc: Undersize output video file

hello again all,
i have a 2 Mpeg's in which i made into a d2v using dvd2avi.
Mpeg's information:
Lengh: 133 Minutes
frame size: 480x480
Fps: 29.970
using templet :arrow: KVCD-CQ-352x240-_NTSCFilm_-PLUS.mcf
i used calcumatic and put a 112 audio birrate and used custom target of ( 780 MB) i calculated the birate and it was ( 702.1 ) so i put that birate in CQmatic hit encode, Tmpgenc started doing the prediction but really fast blinks of TmpgEnc it didn't open up...anyways it started encoding at 89.77 according to cQ matic but on the bottom in TmpGenc it still shows 70 for some reason. the final file came out to be 420 MB :( which is really short, anyone tell me why this is happening and waht i did wrong, or what i didn't do.

1/ Close CQMatic and look into the directory where cqmatic.exe is. you have 2 tpr files. Remove them an restart the process.

2/ check that you don't have long pathname in your tmpgenc project, and don't use any special characters for filenames (only letters and numbers).

If nothing works, post the log of cqmatic here (double clic into CQMatic window).

Okay i did that, made sure path names arent long and everything, still opens really fast and closes really fast started encoding though but just went through the prediction faze reallly fast. and still does say Qfactor of 70 at the bottom right hand corner of TmPgenc

Can you open the ".sample" file that is in the destination directory into a media player. What is in it ?

oxycotton420 07-07-2004 02:09 PM

the sample plays the first 55 seconds of the movie... :? hmm

Dialhot 07-07-2004 02:13 PM

55 second or 2 mintues ? Because if it is 2 minutes then that is normal : CQmatic uses this 2 minutes to do its test and extrapolate to the whole movie :-)

But that does not explain why you have still 70 at the end of the process :-(

i don't think what i am doing is normal, becuase it is infact 55 seconds :(

yes it doesn't, hmm i wonder if it has to do with the version that i am using Tmpenc or something i am using 2.59 i dunno if that helps

oxycotton420 07-07-2004 02:33 PM

okay sorry phil, i got version 2.58 and so far its working the prediction is now taking about 5 minutes which is a good sign i'll let u know if the CQ on the bottom right hand will change to the actuall

oxycotton420 07-07-2004 03:58 PM

alright for some reason, when i load the KVCD templet and do the CQmatic it doesn't work, it does the prediction really fast again, something is wrong...because it was working but for some reason the resolution changed to 480x480 so i stoped it and re-did the prediction and thats when my problem happened

Dialhot 07-08-2004 04:08 AM

Things about RESET source range editing anytime before to save the project in tmpgenc. That is explained in details in the CQMatic sticky post (where you DLed the tool).

Note: your thread has nothing to do in this forum section ;-)
