How much hdd space do i need for dvd2svcd to convert ?

how much free HD space would i need to have DVD2KSVCD CONVERT & REMAKE A DVD 9 movie into 4.7 gb?

A lot !

6-8Gb for the source ripp
4.37 GB for the video and audio elementary streams
4.37 GB for the muxed mpeg (!!)
4.37 GB for the final authored disc.
I just ran out of space in my test of Roba :-(

EDIT: I forgot to add 4.37 GB for the muxed mpeg with subtitles !

ouch ... thats what i thought, I did a test encode & quality was superiour but the space it takes is just too much
