How Do You Split A KVCD?

Hi,

I downloaded a KVCD movie file which is 740mb long. It will not burn onto a CD.

How do I split it? What to use? My Boilsoft AVI splitter does'nt do KVCD.

Help!

First : do not DL KVCD, DO them.
Second : a video is burnt in MODE2 format and a CD contains 800 MB with this.

If memory serves doesn't 740MB fit onto a 74Min CD-R?

So a 80Min which can hold 800Mins should esily be able to hold that data.

You have to use VCD mode (that is mode2), not CD Data mode2.
Then you turn off the VCD compliance (because KVCD are not really VCds) and all is ok.

Michael check CDs 80min is 700mb there are no larger ones (use to be) except for DVDs.

Once again on a CD80 min you can put HEIGHT HUNDRED MEGABYTES OF DATA if you burn it in mode2 (VCD / SVCD modes are mode2).

Do you want it in an other language ?

Note: and there are also CD90, CD99 and CD100 min where you can put 900, 995 and more than 1GB in mode2 (800, 900 and 920 in mode 1)

Yes aryia a 80Min CD is 700mb of data BUT a VCD/SVCD is recorded in Mode 2 so you actually get more video data on than that specified.

For example a 74Min CD can hold 740Mb
a 80Min CD can hold 800Mb
and 90Min CD can hold 900Mb.

I have made loads of KVCD with 800Mb and they fitted to a 80Min CD.

EDIT: As phil has said above if you burn it as a VCD/SVCD it will fit you are probably trying to burn it as a DATA cd which can only hold 700Mb.
