KVCD: disabled audio encoding?

I encoded Oceans 11 (PAL) using the standart KVCD-PAL-PLUS Template.
I just disabeled audio encoding and did this task with headac3he (CBR 128 kb/s mp2).

The result:
800 MB!!!

Perfect!

Cool, what does headac3he convert to and how do you add it to the video?

Also, I think the max file size is 814,080KB or / 1024 = 795MB + 12MB overhead puts the final size at 807MB. You have a little more room

Sure i have more space... but I love copying the FBI Warning Screens :D

Headac3he converts .ac3 to .mp2 (aka (S)VCD Audio).

I use the tmpgenc mpeg tools to multiplex video and audio.

hi can any of you guys help me? i dont really know hoe to use the templates, i have done regular vcds before but never like this. Some one told me i have to install a codec in to tmpgenc to make it read certainfiles. Does anyone know were i can get this at? I have looked around, but cant find it. After i get the file in, how do i load the template in to the program?. Last question what if my dvd player doesnt play the templates?? i went to the dvd forum page were it lists what machines will play , and mine is a ge1101p and it says it doesnt work. Is there something else i can do to burn it then, maybe a different format. All i want to do is burn all these movies i got from kazaa and winmx and beable to finally enjoy them on my tv and not on my damb computer. I want to beable to fit a full movie on a cd and play it to enjoy. Can you please reply or email at chrisrig@bellsouth.net if you can help thanks

Hi riggscm

To use kwag's wonder templates, you have to do like this

1) Install Tmpgenc.
2) Go to kvcd.net page
3) with right click, use "save as" and put the templates into the directory called templates in Tmpgenc.
4) Done that, you have to hit the LOAD button in tmpgenc, and you will see the templates there, sorted by the resolution they have, ok ?

About your Standalone DVD, if the page says that it doesn't work, it's because someone already tested and posted the results of it.
I really never seen your DVD, to tell if it work or not, but anyway, give it a try, test using mpeg-2, change bitrates, but, you have to observe two things : if, your DVD suports VCD, and, if, when you insert the CD, it will recognize as VCD, that's the key.

Any other questiosn, post it, i'm all ears

C ya
